Lil' Inker Design Team January Blog Hop

W E L C O M E to Day four!

This is the second day where we are featuring a set from our '2 Cute ink' line of stamps! 

They feature wonderful illustrations with custom sentiments! 

Today I am showing off our Sweet Bee Set! 

This is the partner to our Cutie Cat Set seen here.

 REALLY?!?!?!? Isn't she just too cute for words!!!

In my SECOND use of Copic markers I really wanted her be to be different. 

The peachy-pink face is just what I wanted. 

I then tried my first attempt at paper piecing her lil' body stripes together. 

I used different papers for each stripe AND her tiny lil' stinger/tail! 

I hope in my detail pictures you will notice the black sparkly paper! love it!

I added a jewel to her paper pieced butterfly, 

and some green grass from the Cutie Cat set.

For the rest of the card, I took some red paper embossed with a heart pattern 

and the purple stock I used for one of the body stripes. I die cut our large sentiment flag 

from the Flags and Tags Set. (that you must get before they are GONE here) 

With another, go to die from the Flags and Tags set, 

I cut a swirly tag out of some paper that says 

"bloom twitter flutter grow frolic BUMBLE spring blossom" randomly,

 AND has lil' flowers too! 

You all know me and my typographic papers! hehehe!

Could it be any more perfect??? 

OH yeah!!! Just add our BEEautiful sentiment "Just Bee-Cuzzz" 

and the coordinating scalloped border and TA-DA instant Valentine's Day Card! 

Finished with a flowing bow.

Lil' Inker's Design Team January Release!

W E L C O M E to Day two!

This is the second day of featuring the amazing new stamp and die set Flags and Tags.

Just look at all we have as part of the Flags and Tags set!

there are 21 stamps and 3 steel dies: 1 Large v-notched flag measuring 5.4" x 2.5", 
with a clear center piece to allow easy alignment and release for die cut. 
A double ended v-notch banner die measuring 3.75" x .5", that fits
perfectly across our curly tag measuring 2.9" x 1.6".

Then to further enhance these wonderful dies 

we have a HUGE set of 21 coordinating stamps. 

There are 3 background stamps, 2 borders, 12 gorgeous sentiments, 1 to/from stamp, and 3 accents! Now that is a ton of versatility!!!!!! I really think this is our best set to do date, there is so much to choose from! Now I just got to craft with all of these goodies Sunday! 
I created a card and a bookmark/tag. 

Take a look, my father's birthday happens to be on Valentine's Day 

so this card is a multi-tasker! I really wanted something masculine, 

and even though there is a bit of swirly curly red, 

I think it represents a celebration of my dad and Valentine's Day!!

Next up is a cute, quick and fun tag that could be used as a bookmark! When Kiernan saw my tag, he said "mom, can you make me a bookmark too?!" :o)
What a good idea that is! right!? So I punched a hole and added a felt ribbon.

I can't wait to make my lil' reader an extra special bookmark VERY soon!

The first pattern I like to describe as peppermint, then your traditional houndstooth pattern and lastly a candy cane pattern!

Can I JUST say I'm so envious of the design team gals getting to work with these sets!!!

One thing I MUST share with you is....

that for the candy cane pattern IF
you flip the J shape upside down
you can make a perfect candy cane!

This is where the Holiday release ideas began, right on Laura's kitchen table! After a yummy lunch and taking the morning to play with acorns and fringe flowers!! You never know what the end result will be. BUT you are promised something unique and original right from Laura's inventive and artistic brain!!!

Lil' Inker Designs Blog Hop DAY 4!

We are featuring for a second day the NEW Mini Pinwheel Die.

So here is my project for day two of our mini pinwheel die blog hop.

In a past life I collected images I really liked from magazines for different found art projects. This is what I used to make the petals for our new mini pinwheel die. It was actually a magazine ad for a car that had a ton of flowers on it. I really loved the contrast of the oranges and blacks from the flowers. I choose a few petals where the green stems and leaves in the magazine showed. I used Laura's tutorial for the original Pinwheel Die and a black brad to make my first mini pinwheel! It's so cute! I just love the shapes it makes and the small size allows you to use it in a myriad of new and creative ways! The unintentional theme of my day at Laura's house was vertical cards made with kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink. I used markers to embellish my sentiment stamp THAT is a sneak preview of Fridays last reveal! I also used the magazine flowers with a another sneak peak item to accent my mini pin :D
I finished off my quick fall card with an orange bow. 
I just love the the mini pinwheel as a focal point!

Lil' Inker Designs Store

Day Two of Lil' Inker Designs DT Blog Hop!

It's day TWO of the Lil' Inker Designs (with ag designs)

We are featuring for a second day the NEW Fringe Flower Die.


I am Part of today's Hop. I hope you hopped over by way of Teresa's Blog.

Here is my project for day two of Fringe Flower Die's.

Being a Graphic Designer and having a strange love of type. This was a study in creative uses of type.


At Laura's house one day I started with kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink that she had already cut into a unique tri-fold card. I then used the black patterned paper from the mini stack B  and W text print series.


I used our Lil' Inker Sentiment Flag die to cut out pieces from an old Catalogue of Typefaces (Fifth Edition) from The Hoefler Type Foundry and another piece from the mini stack. I cut the flags in half and at different lengths to create the pieces under the Flower.


In having so much fun with the Fringe Flower Die I also cut some strips from the Typeface catalogue. I folded one strip in half to make a fringe border of the alphabet on one fold of my card. 


A beautiful sticker with a red border inspired me to use Pure Poppy felt from Papertrey Ink for the focal point of my typographic card. The wonderfully cute Fringe Flower Die made this red felt flower which has a tutorial here. Then still needing a bit of balance, I used a Background Basics: Text Styles stamp by Papertrey Ink with watermark ink by VersaMark on the left side to finish my card. Here are some close ups of my card.
